Short-term overseas teaching opportunities

  • Aarhus University recruits international guest lecturers for its Summer University in 2014 (Deadline for online application: 31 August 2013)

Aarhus University, Denmark, is inviting professors from CUHK to join the Aarhus Summer Programme in 2014 as international guest lecturers. Founded in 1928, Aarhus University is Denmark's second oldest university. Currently, it has more than 40,000 students and 11,000 academic and administrative staff. Aarhus University is dedicated to four strategic core activities: research, talent development, knowledge exchange, and education in all fields – from the humanities to business and social sciences, and from science and technology to medicine. Aarhus University has produced two Nobel Prize Laureates in the past 15 years and was ranked 89th in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Ranking 2012 and 116th in the Times Higher education World University Ranking 2012. It is also one of CUHK's partner universities for term-time and summer-to-summer student exchange programmes. Every year, the Aarhus Summer University offers some 50 courses for 1,300 Danish and international students from around the world.  

Aarhus University provides a salary for teaching, evaluation and examination. Some departments also pay for one return ticket (economy class) for summer teaching. In most cases guest lecturers are responsible for their own accommodation expenses. Specific employment conditions can be found here. Faculty members who are interested to apply for the short-term teaching opportunities at Aarhus University are reminded to seek prior approval from the Head of Department for engaging in outside practice and use their own accrued leave for the purpose.
