Health Talk Highlights: Prevention on Joint Ageing

The CUHK Centre of Research and Promotion of Women's Health (CRPWH) of the School of Public Health and Primary Care organised a health talk on 'Prevention on Joint Ageing' on August 28, 2010.

We were very honored to have invited Dr LAU Pui Yau from the United Christian Hospital to share a topic on 'Knowing about Joint Ageing', and Mr Dominic LO, physiotherapist of CUHK Jockey Club Centre for Osteoporosis Care and Control to show specific exercises for joint health. Participants practiced the exercises with great enthusiasm. Most participants indicated that they enjoyed the talk and leant useful skills for healthy joints.

Several health assessments were provided to participants after the health talk, including blood pressure measurement, body fat measurement, ultrasound bone density assessment and fingerpick measurement for glucose. This event was well received by over 500 participants.
