The new name will enable us to meet the evolving needs of students, researchers, and industry. The Department will continue its commitment to providing the highest quality education and cutting-edge research, aiming to advance the fields of statistics and data science.
Looking ahead, 2026 promises to be another milestone year as the Department is honoured to organize The Seventh Institute of Mathematical Statistics Asia Pacific Rim Meeting (IMS-APRM) at the Henry Cheng International Conference Centre, CUHK, from 13 June to 16 June 2026 (Saturday to Tuesday), in collaboration with the Institute of Mathematical Statistics. This event marks a return to CUHK, following our successful hosting of the same conference in 2016. The conference will serve as a global forum for scientific communication and collaboration among researchers from Asia and the Pacific Rim, fostering connections and partnerships between regional researchers and colleagues from around the world.
