CUHK Continues to Top Ranking as Four More Professors Are Named IEEE Fellow
Four professors of The Chinese University, Prof. Robert Li, Prof. Wang Jun, Prof. Michael Wang and Prof. Y.T. Zhang have been named IEEE Fellow, in recognition of their extraordinary accomplishments in engineering fields. These include Prof. Robert Li's research in network coding and switching theories; Prof. Wang Jun's achievements in recurrent neural networks for optimization and engineering applications; Prof. Michael Wang's work on frictional contact and impact modeling, and robotic workholding and fixturing for manufacturing automation; and Prof. Y.T. Zang's contributions to the field of wearable devices and signal processing algorithms for mobile healthcare.

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Honours CUHK Scientist
Software permeates our daily life. It controls our factories, telecommunications, automobiles, airplanes, department stores, home appliances, entertainment systems, and so on. The correct functionality of these visible systems depends on the invisible software running in them. Prof. Michael Rung-Tsong Lyu of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of The Chinese University has been awarded Fellowship by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world's largest general scientific society, for his contributions to software reliability.

CUHK Accounting Students Win Retirement Plan Competition
Three Year 2 undergraduate students of the Professional Accountancy Programme of the Faculty of Business Administration, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, beat 100 students from nine Hong Kong and overseas universities to win the Hong Kong Society Retirement Plan Research Competition organized by ET Business College on 9 December 2006. The students were Tsang Wing Pong Vincent, Li Ka Ying Tiffany and Ling Yin Wan Kitty.

CUHK Quantitative Finance Team Win University Investment Research Competition
A team of four Quantitative Finance (QFN) students of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Kristy Choy, James Lam, Vienna Lee and Andy Yiu, beat representatives from six local universities and two mainland universities to become the champion of the University Investment Research Competition hosted by the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts Ltd. The other participating teams included HKU, HKUST, PolyU, BU, CityU, Lingnan, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiaotong University.
