Professor Lawrence J. Lau, Vice-Chancellor of the University led a 6-member delegation to foster collaboration initiatives between CUHK and Nanijing University on 28 October.

A 6-member delegation including Prof. Henry N.C. Wong, Chairman of Research Committee, Professor HO Puay-Peng, Chairman, Department of Architecture, Professor Duan LI, Chairman, Department of System Engineering and Engineering Management, Professor Ke-Li WU, Professor of Department of Electronic Engineering, Professor Jie HUANG, Professor of Department of Automation & Computer-Aided Engineering and Ms. Wing Wong, Director, Office of Academic Links (China) visited Tongji University on 22 October, 2007.

Professor LIU Jiesheng, Vice President of Jinan University, led a 7-member delegation to visit CUHK on 10^th October. PVC Jack Cheng and Mr. Andrew Lau, Programme Manager, Office of Academic Links (China) met the delegation and introduced them with CUHK's latest development. The delegation also visited the Independent Learning Centre of CUHK to understand our self-learning language facilities.

The Department of Life Science, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) joined hands in organizing the Academic Symposium on Bio-informatics and its Applications' 2007 on 31 October and 1 November.

A delegation of 34 professors and students of Asia University, Taiwan visited CUHK on 17 October. Professor Andy Curtis, Director of English Language Teaching Unit and Dr. WANG Jiang-Yu, Associate Professor of the School of Law met the delegation and briefed them the latest development of their departments respectively. The meetings fostered the mutual understanding between the universities.

Office for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs of the State Ministry of Education, and Education, Science and Technology Department, Liaison office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R. jointly organized the 9^th Higher Education Management Training Programme.

Students of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) swept the Hong Kong and Macau Cup in the 10th Challenge Cup held at Nankai University, Tianjin from 15 to 19 November 2007.

Professor ZHANG Xi, Party Secretary of Zhejiang University and Prof. NI Mingjiang, Deputy President of Zhejiang University, led a 15-member delegation to visit CUHK on 6 November.

Professor LU Yongxiang, Vice-Chairmen of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) led a 5-member delegation to visit CUHK on 15 November.

CUHK, Nanjing University and Taiwan Central University co-organized the "2nd Cross-Strait Forum on the Humanities and Social Sciences" on 17 and 18 November at Taiwan Central University. On behalf of CUHK, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Jack Cheng attended the opening ceremony on 17 November in Taiwan.

Professor Zihe RAO, President of Nankai University led a 4-member delegation to visit CUHK on 22 November. Professor Lawrence J. Lau, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Jack Cheng, Professor FUNG Kwok-Pui, Head of United College and Chairman of Department of Biochemistry, Professor KWAN Hoi-Shan, Dean of Faculty of Science and Professor TANG Kwong-Leung, Chairperson of Department of Social Work met the delegation and introduced the latest development of CUHK to the delegation.

To forge further collaboration and exchange with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Fudan University invited CUHK to form a delegation of representatives from various administrative offices to visit Shanghai during 22-24 November 2007.

Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Heads of Universities Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region joined hands in organizing the "Second Beijing-Hong Kong Heads of Universities Forum" on 26 November at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The theme of the Forum is "Educational Collaboration and the Building up of an Educational Hub in the Region".  Vice-Chancellor Professor Lawrence J. Lau, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Kenneth Young, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Ching Pak Chung attended the Forum.  Prof. Lau also delivered a keynote speech on "Regional Collaboration and Cooperation in Higher Education" during the Forum.

With the support of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R. and The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, 11 Hong Kong Universities joined hands in organizing the "Higher Education Forum for Universities in Gansu, Qinghai" on 26-30 November.

Professor GUAN Zhicheng, Vice President of Tsinghua University Council, Dean of Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University led a 4-member delegation to visit CUHK on 29 November.
