CUHK Vice-Chancellor Honoured by Leading Japanese Universities
Prof. Lawrence J. Lau, Vice-Chancellor of The Chinese University and internationally acclaimed economist, has recently been conferred the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa, by Waseda University, in recognition of his important achievements in research on economic development, economic growth, and the Chinese and East Asian economics, and his contributions to promoting exchange between CUHK and Waseda, Japan's leading academic institution. Prof. Lau is the first Hong Kong-based scholar ever awarded an honorary doctorate by that university.

CUHK's Trailblazing Study on Female Infertility Chosen as Best Research
A groundbreaking study revealing the role played by Cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) in female fertility and infertility by Prof. Chan Hsiao Chang of The Chinese University of Hong Kong was recently featured by Nature China, a new web-based publication of the Nature Publishing Group, as one of the best research from Hong Kong and Mainland China.
