Lee Shau Kee Foundation Donates HK$50 Million to the Chinese University
The Chinese University of Hong Kong has received a generous donation of HK$50 million from the Lee Shau Kee Foundation. The money will be used to set up scholarships and to enhance other areas in the University's pursuit of academic excellence.

Shaukut Aziz, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Delivers Distinguished Lecture at CUHK

His Excellency Mr. Shaukut Aziz, Prime Minister of Pakistan, delivered a distinguished lecture at the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 12th August. Titled 'Pakistan's Vision for the Asian Century: Promoting Cooperation for Peace and Development', the one-hour lecture and Q&A session clearly illustrated how, in the new millennium, Pakistan is able to play a more important role in Asia's political, economic and anti-terrorist arenas, as well as overall development.

CUHK Researcher Came Third in Nationwide Astronautic Innovation Competition
Dr. Yang Yubin, postdoctoral research fellow of the Joint Laboratory for Geoinformation Science, won third prize at the nationwide Astronautic Innovation Competition 'Flying into the Future'. The only entry from Hong Kong and Macau that made it into the finals, Dr. Yang's project was only ranked after Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the University of Science and Technology of China.

CUHK Clinches One Gold and Three Silvers at National Badminton and Tennis Tournaments
The Chinese University badminton and tennis teams outperformed their opponents at national badminton and tennis championships. In badminton, CUHK was the champion of the men's teams in Group B (Division A), the first runner-up in the mixed double and men's double (both Division A), and the second runner-up in the men's single and ladies single (both Division A). In tennis, CUHK was first runner-up in the men's double (Division B), fourth of the women's teams (Division A), and seventh in the men's single (Division B). Both teams received the Sports Ethics and Fair Play Prize.
