Mr. Yung Ho-yin Chinese Calligraphy Exhibition
"Great cold" often indicates the coldest day in a year. It is the last phrase in the 24 solar terms in which Chinese people outline a year for living and agricultural production based on the distinctive weather and climatic system. This year the "great cold" fell on 20 January but to everyone's surprise, the day was filled with sunshine and warmth. Such a spring-like day was perfect for the opening ceremony of Mr. Yung Ho-yin Chinese Calligraphy Exhibition held at S.H. Ho College.

A Reunion Evening with Saxophones
It is no doubt that the sound of the saxophone can strike a chord with the audience more than any other instrument. It gives a sense of beauty and delicacy when sentimental songs are played. The gentle breeze was blown into S.H. Ho College during the cultural dinner on 24 January.

The First Communal Dinner of Chinese New Year
It is a Chinese traditional practice to maintain a vegetarian diet on the first day of Chinese New Year. On the second day, families have their first dish served with meat and fish which represents an auspicious expression of "a surplus every year" (The Chinese character of "fish" has the same pronunciation as that of "surplus"). A fish thus sends a good wish to everyone at the beginning of the year.

Mass Greeting in Celebration of Chinese New Year
On 10 February, 26 members of S. H. Ho College attended a Chinese New Year luncheon at Connexion. The event was greeted by the welcome speech of Prof. Samuel Sun, College Master, followed by the sharing from Prof. K.B. Wong, College Dean of Students; Dr. Lawrence Chiu, College Dean of General Education; and Mr. Andrew Lau, College Secretary of S.H. Ho College. The sharings were a brief account of the daily operation of the three units at the College. Prof. Sun then made a toast to begin the buffet lunch. All the members chatted and had nice food in a relaxed setting.

S.H. Ho College Runners Go for Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon
Over the past years, S.H Ho College Runner Force has been keen on joining Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon, the city's annual big hit. Last year, it was a tough race for the SHHO runners as they needed to complete it on a rainy day. But this year the runners enjoyed a brisk morning and made their best performance in the race.

High Table Dinner-cum-Opening Ceremony of the 5th Master's Cup
S.H. Ho College's 5th High Table Dinner on 15 February had Dr. Wong Chung Kwong to speak on adolescent resilience. Dr. Wong has been practising psychiatry for 40 years. Back to the early 90s, he started dreaming of using psychiatry and neuroscience to develop a set of methodology in mental education. That dream was so captivating that he decided to resign from his teaching position at CHUK in 1997. Now Dr. Wong is engaged in both clinical practice and mental education.

Protecting Homeland
Hong Kong, as a highly developed city with skyscrapers everywhere, still leaves green spots to be traced on the edge of the grey forest. Take a stroll around the rural areas, you will be stunned by the beauty of mountains and rivers and will find a re-connection with mother nature. But it is sad to tell that the green spaces in the city are facing big threats. On 16 February, S.H. Ho College invited Wing who represented TrailWatch, a mobile app, to share how we could join hands to protect the environment during the cultural dinner.
