Shaw College Students Won Prizes in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition
Shaw College students won prizes in the "Challenge Cup" National Competition Hong Kong Regional Final – Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition 2019. The award recipients are listed below:

Service Learning in Yunnan |
A total of 16 students participated in a 12-day study programme in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, during 23 May - 3 June 2019. It was a College General Education Course led by Dr. LUK Tak-chuen from the Department of Social Work. The group participated in various learning activities in Yunnan. Students attended seminars on local culture and ethnic minorities, organized activities for school children, and worked with local organizations to promote services there. After the programme, students gained a better understanding of the livelihood and reflected on how local people understood and implemented poverty alleviation, in the context of Dhai and Buddhist culture.

Overseas English & Cultural Study Programme in New Zealand 2019 |
A group of 20 students participated in the programme at the University of Auckland during 24 May - 17 June 2019 . In the 3-week programme, participants attended English Language class and joined a wide range of activities and day trip to different areas of the city, which made their learning experiences very fruitful.

Green Trip to Kazakhstan |
Led by Prof. CHAN King-ming of the School of Life Sciences, a group of 8 students travelled to Kazakhstan from 3 - 14 June 2019. Participating students conducted ecological research at Korgalzhyn State Natural Reserve and, compared Astana and Almaty, old and current capitals of Kazakhstan. They also experienced traditional culture – sauna and stayed in yurt. The trip was part of the college general education course "Service Learning in Sustainability". During the trip, students had the opportunity to understand in depth the situation of biodiversity there, and have a taste of local culture.
