MAJOR PAST EVENTS Visits of the Working Group from the Hospital Authority |
|
A 30-member working group comprising representatives from the Hospital Authority (HA), Architectural Services Department (ASD) and architectural companies potentially to be invited for tendering for the Centre of Excellence in Paediatrics (CEP) project visited the School of Biomedical Sciences (SBS) on 30 April 2012. Prior to this visit, a smaller group of HA, ASD and companies' delegates had made a pre-visit to us on 16 April 2012 to learn the overall environment of the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building (LIBSB) and our School for the purpose of finalizing the itinerary.

A housewarming lunch gathering was held on 7 March 2012 to celebrate the successful relocation of the School of Biomedical Sciences to the Lo Kwee-Seong Integrated Biomedical Sciences Building (LIBSB) in Area 39, Northside Research Campus.

On 9 March 2012, an 18-member delegation led by Prof. Jack C.Y. Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) visited the Health Department of Guangdong Province (HDGP) and met with Dr. Geng Qing-Shan, Director-General of HDGP and other HDGP officials. Our School members including Professors Kenneth K.H. Lee, David C.C. Wan, Chen Yangchao, Feng Bo and Wan Chao were in the delegation.

| Delegation Visit of the School of Medicine, Shenzhen University | |
Following the last delegation visit of Shenzhen University (SZU) and the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Faculty of Medicine, CUHK and School of Medicine, Shenzhen University on 16 January 2012, the latter led by Prof. Wang Tian-fu, Associate Dean (Research), Prof. Liu Zhi-gang, Associate Dean (Education), Prof. Zhang Jiang, Associate Dean (Administration), together with five academics, paid a follow-up visit to the School of Biomedical Sciences on 16 March 2012 to further explore academic and research collaborative opportunities with our School members.
