Award Presentation Ceremony of MOE Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award 2010 cum China Links Seminar

The Award Presentation Ceremony of Ministry of Education (MOE) Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Award 2010 was held in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 1 March 2011. Officiating at the Ceremony were Prof. Zhou Jing, Deputy Director-General of the Centre for Science and Technology Development of MOE; Prof. Pan Yonghua, Director General of Education, Science and Technology, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR; Ms. Michelle Li, JP, Deputy Secretary of the Education Bureau of HKSAR; and Mr. Li Nai Yiu, President of Beijing-Hong Kong Academic Exchange Center. 

Five CUHK professors receive the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Output Awards from the Ministry of Education (from left): Prof. Juncheng Wei, Prof. Jun Yu, Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Prof. Zhenyu Chen and Prof. Yu Huang.

2011 CAS Academicians Visit Programme cum Lecture Series Successfully Held

The fourth Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) Academicians Visit Programme was held on 21-25 February 2011. The delegation included 6 CAS Academicians Prof. Zhu Daoben of CAS Institute of Chemistry; Prof. Cheng Jinpei of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Prof. Hong Maochun of Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter; Prof. Ge Molin of Nankai Institute of Mathematics; Prof. Chai Zhifang of Institute of High Energy Physics; and Prof. Tao Shu of College of Urban and Environmental Sciences.

Delegation from Fourth Military Medical University

On 15 February 2011, a 3-member delegation led by Prof. Xiong Lize, Head of Xijing Hospital of Fourth Military Medical University, visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) to discuss collaboration opportunities with the Faculty of Medicine.

Visit of Vice-Presidents from Tertiary Institutions in Fujian

A 6-member delegation led by Prof. Wang Jian, Vice-President of Fuzhou University and Prof. Lin Sizu, Vice-President of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 23 February 2011.

CUHK Delegation to Visit Beijing Genomics Institute, Shenzhen

Prof. Jack Cheng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), led a thirteen-member delegation on 25 February 2011 to visit Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI), with a view to strengthening academic collaboration. The CUHK delegation comprised of representatives from Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Engineering.
