| The Department of Life Science, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) joined hands in organizing the Academic Symposium on Bio-informatics and its Applications' 2007 on 31 October and 1 November.
PVC CHING Pak-Chung, Mr PAN Yong-Hua, Director General of Education, Science and Technology Department of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Hong Kong S.A.R, Mr. Zhang Xinggen, Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor WANG Yi, Deputy Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, National Natural Science Foundation of China officiated at the opening ceremony of the Symposium. The 2-day Symposium provided a platform for fostering academic exchange and research collaboration among the scientists from the mainland and Hong Kong. The mainland scholars also visited LI Ka-Shing Institute of Health Sciences and related laboratories at the Prince of Wales Hospital. |
