Pinpointing the current situation, the Career Planning & Development Centre of the University's Office of Student Affairs has introduced a number of new initiatives, among which includes the subscription to Vault, an on-line career library available to all students, and the launch of a regular electronic newsletter on career information in January 2009. To enhance the competitiveness of graduates in the job market, the 2009 Global Internship Programme is strengthened with an aim to expose students to the realities of the workplace prior to their graduation. The Colleges, faculties and departments have stepped up their personal development programmes for students through a wide range of activities including summer study abroad programmes, mentorship schemes, language enhancement activities and computer training courses. Alumni from various sectors have also contributed to the initiative by providing career advice and offering job opportunities to current students. Alumni interested in sharing their career experience or offering opportunities to our students may email Ms Wendy Wong of the Office of Student Affairs for further information. |
