Jockey Club Charles Kao Brain Health Mobile Truck: Journey Started

The recruitment of volunteers for the Jockey Club Charles Kao Brain Health Services Project, co-organised by this Centre, was completed with favourable response.  The number of registrants from CUHK students, staff and alumni has exceed the quota set by the service.

On 8 December, the accepted volunteers attended a briefing session conducted inside the mobile truck to learn about dementia, the techniques for communication with this type of patients, as well as the various medical facilities equipped inside the truck.  They will be guided by the Jockey Club Charles Kao Brain Health Services Project from January to June of 2019 to tour around Kwun Tong, Shatin, Kwai Tsing, Wan Chai, Kowloon City, Tuen Mun, Sham Shui Po and the Islands District to offer support services on dementia, namely professional consultation and follow-up, to the people in need.  Community education programmes such as seminars and workshops will also be run to raise public awareness of dementia.
