If you are interested to learn more about US presidential election, you may like to join the following events organized by the Hong Kong America Center.
1st Event Date | 29 October 2016 (Saturday) | Time | 9:00 am - 5:00 pm | Venue | Hong Kong Baptist University | Content | This is 10 days prior to the actual US election on 8 November (US time). Students will join teams to represent these 13 swing states, and each of the 13 teams will include Republicans and Democrats. Together they will study the opinion polls and voting behavior of "their" state. Each state team has to agree on a projection of who will win the election for president, congress and/ or governor, and with that margin of victory. |
2nd Event Date | 9 November 2016 (Wednesday) | Time | 9:00 am – 12:00 nn | Venue | Central, HK Island | Content | Students will join Americans who gather to watch live voting results from the US media. They can interview the American ex-pats in HK about their voting choices. By the end of the morning, they will compare each state team's predication to the actual voting results. Rewards will be given to the teams whose projections get the closest to the actual votes. |
