Walking Campaign Launching Ceremony

The Committee of Health Promotion and Protection of CUHK is organizing a campaign to promote the walking culture. A launching ceremony will be held on March 16 (Friday) at 10:30am outside the University Railway Station. Souvenirs include T-shirt, pedometer and bottled water.

For registration, please email the name and gender of all participants to Alumni Affairs Office before March 11 with "Walking Campaign" in the subject line.


Corporate Social Responsibility: Conference 2007

Corporate Social Responsibility: Conference 2007 "Matters of the Heart, or the Bottom Line" organized as the first of its kind by CUHK MBA students will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 4 (Friday).

More than 20 prominent speakers including representatives from Adidas, CLP Holdings, Coca-Cola Pacific Group, CUHK, Deloitte & Touche, Hang Seng Bank, the HKSAR Government, Mass Transit Railway Corporation, Oxfam Hong Kong, Time Warner and WWF Hong Kong, will be speaking at the Conference.

Exemplary Teaching Award in General Education 2007

Dr. Wong Wing Hung, a CU alumnus and Senior Instructor of the Department of Physics and Professor Liu Xiaogan, Professor of the Department of Philosophy are the winners of the first Exemplary Teaching Award organized by the Senate Committee on General Education (SCGE) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The Award is presented to commend teachers with outstanding contribution to teaching and learning in general education. Details of the Award Presentation Ceremony are as follows.

Public Lecture by Distinguished Visiting Scholar Professor Yuan Longping

Professor Yuan Longping, Director-General of the China National Hybrid Rice Research and Development Center and the "Father of Hybrid Rice", will visit United College between March 10 and 18 as the second Distinguished Visiting Scholar in the College's 50th Anniversary Year. He will deliver a public lecture during his visit.

Annual Concert of the CU Chorus

The Annual Concert of the CU Chorus will be held in Shatin Town Hall, Auditorium, on April 7 (Saturday). The Chorus will perform pieces related to the theme of "war and peace". The programme includes Xian Xing-hai's "Yellow River Cantata" (original Yanan version), and alumnus Dennis Wu's "Prayer's of St Francis".
