| Conference on "Stem Cell, Regenerative Medicine and Cancer" | |

On 22 June 2011, Prof. Wai-Yee Chan, Director of SBS, Prof. Gang Li, Chief of the Stem Cell and Regeneration Program, and Prof. Kingston Mak, member of the Stem Cell and Regeneration Program attended the Conference on "Stem Cell, Regenerative Medicine and Cancer" which was held at the South Campus, Shenzhen University. The Conference was hosted by Prof. Guang-Qian Zhou, School of Medicine, Shenzhen University and Prof. Gang Li, School of Biomedical Sciences, CUHK. Apart from representatives of our School, and staff and students of ShenZhen University, members of Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Tissue Engineering, the Department of Orthopedics of Nanshan Hospital, and Shenzhen First People's Hospital also took part in this event. Prof. Chan, Prof. Li, and Prof. Mak each delivered a presentation at the Conference to share with the participants the latest development of their research in relation to the theme of the conference. Meanwhile, they had met with representatives of the Shenzhen University to discuss other forms of collaborations in terms of student exchange, joint research applications, and training of students, etc., and to explore the possibilities of establishing a joint research centre on Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine. The Conference provided a platform for participants to exchange views and ideas on stem cell research and regenerative medicine. It further enhanced the overall collaboration between our School and Shenzhen University. |
