Eligibility
(a) Local / non-local / incoming exchange undergraduate students of CUHK, except for students from full residential colleges, may apply;
(b) Successful applicants should have valid CUHK studentship till 31 Jul, 2020;
(c) Successful applicants should retain an active student status during 2019-20 (those who plan to go on an exchange programme in term time or suspend their studies should not apply);
(d) Successful applicants must commit to residing at I-House for a full year i.e. Aug 2019 - Jul 2020, lodging fees apply;
(e) Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua will be an advantage;
(f) Proficiency in common computer software applications; familiarity with social media will be desirable;
(g) Sound organisational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills;
(h) Experience in organising cultural events and campaigns will be an advantage;
(i) Friendly character and energetic and self-motivated work attitude;
(j) Committing to organize inter-cultural activity which could integrate non-local and exchange students with local residents.
Roles and Duties
(a) Be the "buddies" to the non-local students and exchange students at I-House and support their adaptation to life at CUHK;
(b) Carry out the proposed activities (at least one activity per semester);
(c) Assist in organising orientation activities for IH residents at least once per semester;
(e) Performing other tasks as assigned by the I-House Management Office and/or the IH Warden's Team.
