What New Blackboard Brings to Teaching Staff

A comprehensive review among staff and students was conducted in 2016 to select a suitable cloud-based Leaning Management System (LMS) for 2017/18.

Blackboard, again, is selected to be the University-wide LMS for the coming 5 years.

Look Familiar but More Features
The same service provider doesn't mean nothing's new. In the new Blackboard, you will find

  • Upgraded platform
    We have upgraded the system to the latest version for better performance
  • Activity Stream
    You can find an activity log about any updates in your courses
  • Modern and user-friendly presentation of courses
    Courses are presented in card layout and you can publish / un-publish them with a click
  • Global grading page

You can check out all grading tasks without jumping from one course to another

  • Blackboard Collaborate Ultra
    A new web conferencing application supports interactive exchange with students

The Next Is…

  • The new Blackboard starts serving the University in 2017 / 18.
  • The old Blackboard is still in service until July 2018.
  • Content in 2016-17 Summer Session courses will also be gradually migrated to the new system after Summer.
