Visit by Director of People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

 

A delegation led by Dr. Sun Dejun, Director of People's Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (the Hospital) visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 14 October 2014 to learn about the development of CUHK in medicine and to strengthen linkage between the two parties.

 

The delegation met with Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Francis Chan, Dean of Medicine; and Prof. Yu Jun, Associate Director of State Key Laboratory of Digestive Disease (Partner Laboratory in CUHK). During the meeting, Prof. Chan and Dr. Sun renewed the collaboration agreement on academic exchange on behalf of the Faculty of Medicine and the Hospital.

 

The delegation next visited the research facilities in CUHK to understand the recent development of the University in medicine. The delegates also toured the University Gallery to obtain more information about the University. The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to enhance linkage and nurture friendship.

Delegation from Sino-British Fellowship Trust

 

Mrs. Anne Elizabeth Ely, Chairman and Honorary Director and Mr. Peter Ely, Vice Chairman of the Sino-British Fellowship Trust visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 23 October 2014.

 

Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice Chancellor and Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK received the delegation and introduced to them the latest development of the University.  The two parties exchanged ideas on the development of higher education in Hong Kong and with Mainland China. On behalf of the University, Prof. Sung expressed his gratitude to the Trust in supporting academic exchange activities in CUHK in the last 30 years. After the meeting, Mrs. Ely and Mr. Ely visited the University Gallery to have better understanding of the University.

Delegation from East China Normal University

 

Prof. Guo Weilu, Vice President of East China Normal University (ECNU) led a 6-member delegation to visit the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 17 October 2014. The purpose of the visit was to explore collaboration opportunities between the two universities.

 

The delegation was warmly received by CUHK representatives including Prof. Hau Kit-tai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; and Prof. Shen Jiangfa, Chairman of Department of Geography and Resource Management. The delegates paid visit to the University Gallery and tour the campus to enhance their understanding of the University and its unique collegial system. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and to build up links between the two universities.
