You may recently have heard of or experienced hacker activities.

Exploit Vulnerability in Facebook
One of the massive one is the vulnerability in "View as" function announced by the global social media platform, Facebook, in Sep 2018. Millions of users are affected with access tokens, friend lists and profiles stolen.

You may check up with Facebook via their Help Centre whether you are one of the affected users. You are also recommended to take actions to safeguard your FB account: https://www.hkcert.org/my_url/en/blog/18092901

Fraud Emails to Your University Account
Hackers may also approach you via your other accounts. One of them would be your University mailbox. Some of their common opening lines are

  • Your account is going to expire. Click the link to continue…
  • We've got your password or personal videos. Send us the bitcoins…
