Vice President of CASS Visits CUHK
Professor Go Xiang, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) and Director of Institute of Chinese History of CASS, led a 7-member delegation to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 6 June. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from Hong Kong Research Institute of Chinese Academy to enhance the linkage with CUHK in research collaboration and student exchanges.
The delegates met with CUHK members and representatives, including Professor Fanny Cheung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Professor Chiu Chi-Yue, Dean of Facutly of Social Science; Professor Cheng Chung-Yi, Associate Dean (Research) of Faculty of Arts; and Professor Lai Ming-Chiu, Chairmanof Department of History. Both sides took the opportunity to learn updates on the developments of CASS and CUHK and exchanged view regarding academic interflow, researchprojects and talent nurturing .
The Instiute of Chinese History in CASS was established in March 2019 as a national research institute comprising of research units of Archeology, Modern History, World History, Chinese Borderland History and Geography as well as theoretical history. The visit further strengthened exchange between CUHK and CASS based on the current close connections to facilitate expansion of collaboration in new areas.

Provost of HIT (Shenzhen) Leads Delegation to CUHK
Professor Zhen Liang, Provost of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT, Shenzhen) led a delegationof faculty deans and heads of administrative units to visit The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 18 June. The delegates met with Professor Wong Suk-ying, Associate Vice-President of CUHK; Professor Irwin King, Associate Faculty Dean of Engineering; and Professor Leung Mei-yee, Director of University General Education;
The delegates were well received by CUHK members and Professor Wong Suk-ying, led the meeting to introduce the University's current development in research, teaching and academic links, sharing experience of developing general education courses, and online and E-learning resources. Further collaboration opportunities were discussed including talents interflow, joint programmes and collaborative researchprojects.
CUHK has been in a close collaborative relationship with HIT. Major projects include the Association of University Presidents of China and the Joint Research Institute on Robotics together with University of California, Berkeley. The student interflow programmes co-organized by the two universities, ranging from research placement to cultural exploration, thematic studies (including engineering and robotics) and summer school programmes in Russian, are popular among CUHK students.
