Mr TANG Hao, Vice-Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) led a 15-member delegation to visit CUHK on August 9. During their stay in CUHK, the delegates met with Prof. FOK Tai-fai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Prof. Stephen CHIU, Co-Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies; Dr. Victor ZHENG, Assistant Director of the Institute; and Ms Samantha Wong, Senior Programme Manager of Office of Academic Links (China).
CUHK members introduced the University's general development to the delegation. Discussions were held on topics in relation to think tanks and exchange among youngsters in Guangdong and Hong Kong.
The University has been maintaining close partnership with tertiary institutions and research organization in Guangdong Province. Examples of deep collaboration projects include State Key Laboratory, Key Research Institute in Humanities and Social Sciences, Collaboration Innovation Center and the MOE Key Laboratory. The visit not only helped bolster the linkage between the two regions, but also enabled both parties to explore new collaboration opportunities in student interflow and think tank establishment.
