3. New e-Fax Service: Faxing As Easily As Sending / Receiving Emails

Fax is no longer limited by location, fax machines, printing, or busy signal. It can now be as easy as sending or receiving emails!
From 2016, ITSC has launched a new IPT e-Fax service. With this service subscribed, you / your department will be given a unique fax no. 394-21xxx and an e-Fax account. You / Your office administrative staff can easily manage any incoming and outgoing faxes through a web portal, which is an online version of Outlook (Outlook Web App).

How It Works Like Receiving an Email?

  1. When a fax document comes to your fax no., it will turn to be an incoming email to your e-Fax account.
  2. You can find the incoming fax document appeared as a pdf attachment.
  3. And you / your departmental administrative staff can simply forward the email (the fax) to your colleagues to follow up with.

How It Works Like Sending an Email?

  1. You can open a new email message after accessing your e-Fax account through the web portal.
  2. Type the fax no. followed by @fax.ipt.cuhk.edu.hk  into "To" field. You can have multiple recipients.\
  3. Attach your fax document (in Word, Excel, PDF, JPEG, GIF) to your message.
  4. By hitting the "Send" button, your fax document will reach the target fax machine!

With this service, you can send out faxes wherever there is internet access (CUHK VPN required for non-office PCs). And it only costs you HK$40 per month for each fax no.!

Write to ipt@itsc.cuhk.edu.hk if you would like to enjoy this convenient service!
