Value Exploration Activities under the I·CARE Achievers Programme

The I·CARE Achievers Programme is divided into two parts - "Core Group Nurture" and "Value Exploration Series".  While the former has started student recruitment and is processing selection of 30 participants for this academic year, the latter is open to all CUHK members aiming to enhance their self-awareness and good qualities through a series of activities on character building.  These are done to promote positive development of the community and the world.

Next month, this Centre will roll out two activities under the "Value Exploration Series" of the I·CARE Achievers Programme for all CUHK full-time students.  Details are as follows:

Retreat Day

Date:2 November 2019 (Saturday)
Venue:Casphalt, Tuen Mun
Time:9:45 am - 4:00 pm
Content:In this non-religious retreat day, participants will have a pit stop to practise
  meditation and join the mindful vegetarian meal through which they will learn 
  how to grasp the "here and now" to achieve inner serenity.

Workshop on Value Clarification

Date:20 November 2019 (Wednesday)
Venue:Room 502, Wong Foo Yuan Building
Time:7:00 - 9:00 pm
Content:Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner, renowned in leadership training around the
  world, established a specific learning model namely The Leadership Challenge®
  to demonstrate the abstract ideas about leadership in a concrete way.  By  
  utilising the training tool for "Modelling the Way" under The Student Leadership  
  Challenge® (a key part of the The Leadership Challenge®), participants will be  
  assisted to clarify their own value system.  Their potential will further be
  developed after their belief and action are aligned.
Tutor:Irene Ng (Director, I·CARE Centre for Whole-person Development)
  Ms. Ng is a Certified Facilitator in The Student Leadership Challenge®.  She has 
  been working on student affairs for over 15 years and was in the employ of radio
  station and large social welfare agency respectively.
