Modern War and Conflict in Europe

In this session, we will talk about two conflicts in Europe. The Yugoslav Wars (1991-2001), Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II; and the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict where the internationally recognized Ukrainian territory of Crimea was annexed by the Russian Federation on 18 March 2014.

 

Domestic Helper behind the Scenes

Every Sunday and public holiday, we can see countless domestic helpers occupying the sidewalk, chatting, sharing food and playing cards… Who are they? What is their story and what made them leaving their families and going to HK? What are the challenges and possibilities for these domestic helpers in HK?

 

Central America: Past, Present, Future

In this cultural session, Juan Carlos from Costa Rica will share with us some special features of his home country and the region of Central America. How is the region being influenced by colonial rule and what challenges is it facing? What will be the future for this beautiful but poverty stricken part of the world?
