The Peoples of the Southwest United States through Film and in Real Life

A 3-week study programme, offered by Hong Kong-America Center, is open to all students of universities in Hong Kong during the semester break. The programme includes a 2-week tour in Los Angeles, California and Tucson, Arizona from 25 December 2016 to 7 January 2017, pre-departure orientation and follow-up reflection programme in Hong Kong.

In this 3-week programme, you will join a group of university students of Hong Kong on a study adventure. You will visit the famous movie theaters, film studios and streets of Hollywood where the legends began. You will travel to the Arizona desert and meet the real people behind these images. Group discussions in Hong Kong and in the United States will focus on critical thinking and inter-cultural communication skills. Participants will become film reviewers, policy analysts as well as adventures.

 

The programme fee is USD2,490. This includes accommodations, most meals, local transportation, and admissions to all museums and attractions. Airfare & US Visa Application Fee are NOT included. Students may be eligible for university subsidies.

 

A briefing session for the programme will be held on 3 October 2016 (Monday) at 12:30 pm. The tentative deadline for the programme is 7 October 2016 (Friday).  Stay tuned for more details and application process!
