Four young professors from the Faculty of Engineering have become recipients of the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s (NSFC) Young Scientists Fund 2022. They are Professor Dou Qi from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Duan Liting from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Professor Ma Xin from the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, and Professor Yan Zhenyu from the Department of Information Engineering.

This year marked the first time that the fund applications were open to researchers in Hong Kong, out of which 13 professors from CUHK were selected. Each of the researchers will receive RMB 300,000 in funding to support their scientific research projects for three years. The fund sets out to promote young scientists by supporting scholars in research areas of their choice and enhancing their ability to conduct innovative projects independently.
