課程改革即將進入關鍵性階段，而評核改革為其中之重要元素。在2000年推行的中小學新數學課程中，早已提出應以評估促進學習。雖然在中小學發展開放題、探索題、非常規等一類題目提出有年，但教師每每苦於難以找得類似題目而有所卻步。「授人以魚不如授人以漁」，香港中文大學課程與教學學系謹藉此於本年5月30日舉辦以「多元化評估促進數學學習：構思與設計」為主題的研討會，邀得本系黃毅英教授作介紹發言，香港教育局鄧美愉女士、馮德芳女士和戴敏治女士現身說法，分享其經驗，並由本系的高級導師羅浩源博士作回應發言。講者們於研討會不只提供幾道樣板題目，而是將整個意念來源，捜尋相關資料，訂正修飾之擬題過程，和盤闡示。當日超逾二百名前綫中小學數學教師及數學教育界同工參加。我們希望各與會者從中可得借鑑，將相關意念融入日常教學中。

2009年6月13日，超過200位中學化學教師參加由本系主辦的題為「優化高中化學教學的方法」之教育研討會，講者包括本系的張善培教授，羅定邦中學陳志強先生，滙基書院(大坑東)趙遠棋先生及青松侯寶垣中學蔡子良先生。研討會內容針對優化高中化學教與學的策略，示範如何利用可口可樂鋁罐和食鹽實施探究式化學實驗，並介紹與中學化學有關的課外活動。

The subject seminar, "A New Look at an Old Problem: How Teachers can Liberate Themselves from the Drudgery of Marking Student Writing" held on 20 June 2009, was attended by more than 180 primary and secondary teachers of English in Hong Kong. Prof. Lee Kit Bing Icy of our Department began the seminar by inviting teachers to think outside the box and problematize conventional feedback practices. She challenged the conventional wisdom of feedback by re-examining the issue from ten new perspectives. Then she re-conceptualized feedback by looking at feedback in the larger context of teaching and learning in the writing classroom, i.e. in terms of what takes place before, during and after feedback. The presentation was followed by a panel discussion attended by three secondary teachers of English, Miss Susanna Wong, Mr. Raphael Yiu and Mr. Yeung Man Kong, one primary English teacher, Miss Winnie So, and a retired principal of a primary school, Mr. Cheung Kwok Chue, during which practical experience was shared. Before the seminar closed, there was an informal question-and-answer session, which gave the participants an opportunity to give comments and ask questions.

本系於2009年6月29日邀請了10位來自台灣的教授和中學老師蒞臨本校，進行「歷史教育新思維：與台灣歷史教育工作者對話」歷史教育研討會。

會上張元教授(清華大學榮譽退休教授、台灣大學歷史系兼任教授)、林慈淑教授(東吳大學歷史系專任副教授)宣讀兩篇有關歷史思維的理論文章，其他來自台北及高雄的中學老師分享他們的教學設計及實踐經驗，並報告他們最近完成的行動研究及其研究結果。當日出席者除香港教師外，來自廣州市教育局教學研究室歷史教研員及十多位教師更應邀蒞臨，作兩岸三地的交流，探討歷史教育的現況和教學的新嘗試，促進彼此對教學的反思。
