    Master of Science programme in Financial Technology (MSc in FinTech) - The Faculty of Engineering

      

    Programme DescriptionThe Faculty of Engineering will launch a new Master of Science programme in Financial Technology (MSc in FinTech) in academic year 2019/20. The new programme aims to nurture people who are technologically adept and business savvy; and who can offer innovative solutions to finance-related industries.

    Backed by the Faculty of Engineering experts, the MSc in FinTech emphasizes practical skills and industrial training. Students can enrich their experience by working on real-life projects under co-supervision of Engineering professors and industrial supervisors, or being an intern in finance-related companies referred by the programme. Graduates will be well suited for jobs demanding strong technical skills in diverse finance-related industries.

    Programme Description The Master of Nursing Science (Pre-registration) Programme is a three-year full-time credit-based programme designed to prepare those with a bachelor's degree in any discipline for a career in nursing. This master's entry programme aims to provide students with the opportunity to study the art and science of nursing from different perspectives and to develop their skills in clinical decision making, critical thinking and problem solving. Successful completion of the programme will enable the graduate to register as a Registered Nurse (General) with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (NCHK).

    Admission Requirements 

    • Have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university, normally with honours not lower than Second Class (or equivalent);
    • Have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese);

    Programme Description The Doctor of Nursing Programme (DNurs) is practice-focused, and students are required to complete 42 units of courses and an Advanced Nursing Practice project. This programme is designed to prepare master's-prepared nurse clinicians and executive leaders for the highest level of clinical practice to improve health and healthcare outcomes, and to translate research into practice. Our students are expected to build on their existing knowledge to develop advanced clinical and leadership expertise in dealing with complex health conditions across the continuum of care.

    Remarks: The new programme curriculum for academic year 2019-20 is subject to the University Senate's approval.

    Mode of Study Part-time: 4 years
    Admission Requirements• Have a Master of Nursing degree or equivalent from a recognised university;
    • Be a registered nurse and normally possess at least two years of post-registration experience;

    Programme DescriptionThe Master of Nursing Programme is a clinically-based programme aiming to equip graduate nurses with the knowledge and competencies to incorporate theories and concepts of nursing science and the leadership and management skills into advanced nursing practice in a clinical specialty. The programme emphasises the development and utilisation of evidence-based knowledge, advanced clinical skills and management and leadership skills. It also prepares students to pursue nursing career advancement or postgraduate studies at a doctoral level.

    Programme Description Specialty nurses in different clinical settings have assumed an increasingly significant role in the provision of high quality nursing care and the enhancement of healthcare outcomes. The programme is designed to equip bachelor's-prepared registered nurses with a solid foundation for advanced practice in specialty nursing or healthcare management. The emphasis is placed on the development of specialty knowledge and skills that are necessary to the provision of healthcare management or therapeutic nursing interventions at an advanced level. Students are also expected to further develop their competence in clinical or management decision-making and evidence-based evaluation in their relevant clinical specialty or healthcare management area.

    Students admitted in 2019-20 may choose to study in one of the following study streams:
    • Management and Leadership
    • Perioperative Nursing
    • Medical Nursing

    Mode of Study  1-year part-time programme
    Admission Requirements  

    • Be a registered nurse with a valid practising certificate;
    • Have a bachelor's degree in nursing or related discipline;
    • Have at least 2 years' post-registration work experience in healthcare (preferable to have at least 6 years' post-registration work experience for Management and Leadership stream); and
    • Be currently practising in a specialty area related to the chosen study stream.

    Recognition of the Programme 

    • The programme is recognised by the respective College of the Hong Kong Academy of Nursing as quotable qualification.
    • The programme is recognised by the Education Bureau of HKSAR Government as Level 6 under the Qualifications Framework.

    External Scholarships - Hong Kong Art Development Council

    Overseas & Mainland Arts Administration Scholarships 2019

    Scholarship DetailsThe Scholarship is intended to support arts administrators who wish to pursue taught master courses in relation to arts administration at overseas or Mainland accredited institutions.
    Eligibility- Must be Hong Kong Permanent Resident
    - Must have at least 3 years of paid work experience in the arts / cultural sector and demonstrate a strong commitment to the sectors
    - Intended programme must commence within the period from 1 August 2019 to 31 July 2020

    Scholarship amount Each scholarship value is up to HK$450,000 and mainly covers tuition fee, subsistence allowance and a round-trip economy class flight ticket.     Local Arts Administration Scholarships 2019

    Scholarship detailsThe Scholarship is intended to support arts administrators who wish to pursue master courses / professional programmes in relation to arts administration or business administration related professional programmes at local higher education institutions.
    Eligibility- Must be Hong Kong Permanent Resident
    - Must have at least 2 years of paid work experience as an arts administrator by the application deadline
    - Must be currently employed and recommended by the arts organisation you are currently working with (OR current / recent partnering organisation for freelance arts administrator)
    - Intended study programme must commence within the period from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020

     Professional Attachment at Mori Art Museum 2019

    Programme details A 24-week attachment on a full-time basis will be offered from July to December 2019 at Mori Art Museum. The selected applicant will mainly participate in curatorial research, exhibition programming and project coordination in Mori Art Museum.
    Eligibility- Must be Hong Kong Permanent Resident
    - Must have at least 3 years of paid curatorial / managerial experience in arts and cultural sector
    - Must an excellent command of spoken and written English
    - Must have good knowledge in modern and contemporary art, especially about Asian art and relevant tertiary education background

    Hong Kong Scholarship on the Clore Leadership Programme 2019/20

    Scholarship detailsThe Scholarship is intended to support Hong Kong arts practitioners with leadership potential to undertake a tailored programme of development in the United Kingdom to strengthen their leadership skills and broaden their international exposure.
    Eligibility 

    - Must be Hong Kong Permanent Resident
    - Must have a minimum of 7 years' professional or voluntary experience in the arts and cultural sector by the end of the application deadline
    - Must have an excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
    - The scholarship recipient(s) will attend an induction day in the UK on 20 September 2019 and engage with Fellows of the CLP in two mandatory residential leadership courses from 23 September to 4 October 2019 and 22 June to 3 July 2020. They are also expected to dedicate approximately four months to the programme in the UK between April and July 2020
