Top 100 Chinese New Stars in Artificial Intelligence by Baidu Scholar
Yifan Gao, a year-4 PhD student, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, is being listed as the one of the Top 100 Chinese New Stars in Artificial Intelligence by Baidu Scholar recently. His research topic is question answering, text generation and dialogue in natural language processing (NLP). He has published several research papers on top natural language processing conferences, and served as PC member for top NLP/AI conferences.

The AI Chinese Rising Stars list is jointly released by Baidu Talent Intelligence Center (TIC), Baidu Scholar, China Social Computing Research Center of Tianjin University, and Business Intelligence Center of University of Science and Technology of China. Candidates are selected among Chinese students in the field of AI all over the world (graduating no earlier than 2020). The selection is based on papers published by the students during their studies, which include 65,255 papers in 55 top international journals and conferences in the field of artificial intelligence from 45,205 students. With reference to the research area definition recommended by the China Computer Federation (CCF) and the suggestions of domestic scholars and experts, 25 young students (100 in total) were selected from the four fields of computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, and data mining.
