4. "Information Security and You (ISNU)" Briefing Session

To acquire CUHK members with a better understanding on Information Security (IS), we have organized various IS briefing sessions for both staff and students.

Staff Session

Do you worry about information leakage at your workplace? A spate of data leaks through USB drive and Foxy has raised widespread concerns on how to prevent information leakage and how to avoid being the next victim. If this is of your concern too, you may want to join 5 Sep seminar to learn "Tips in preventing information leakage". This session is open to all staff. Please visit http://training.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/coursedetail.aspx?id=IS0010003E  for registration and other details.

Student Session

New undergraduates should still remember the briefing session on Information Security and You on CUHK Registration Day. In the following, we would like to address the key issues again. To protect your computer and online information from virus attacks and other problems, please take the following measures.

  1. Install anti-virus software and firewall
  2. Secure data transmission over CUHK Wi-Fi service with VPN
  3. Never try unauthorized uploading and downloading
  4. Use and keep safe your secure passwords

Please visit http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/itsc/security/protectpc for the practical actions you can take.

Besides, ITSC is going to equip students with the knowledge in information security and promote computer ethics, e.g. intellectual property rights and privacy, through college General Education programmes and assemblies this September and October.

As always, stay tuned to ITSC Digest and ITSC Information Security page http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/itsc/security for more tips and latest news.
