VC of CUHK visits Shanghai Jiao Tong University

On 15 October 2011, Prof. Joseph Sung, Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Hsiung Ping Chen, Dean of Faculty of Arts of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) and attended the opening ceremony of the 9th Asian New Humanities Net (ANHN) Annual Meeting.

Scholars from around 20 countries and regions participated in the meeting. The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. Zheng Chengliang, Vice President of SJTU. Prof. Joseph Sung said in his opening speech at the ceremony that ANHN has quickly evolved into a cross- regional international conference in 8 years. The 9th ANHN also demonstrated the close collaboration between CUHK and SJTU, and further strengthened academic exchange in humanities among Hong Kong, China and other regions.

 

Apart from taking part in the opening of ANHN, Prof. Joseph Sung attended the Colorectal Cancer Consensus Workshop in China 2011 and met with Prof. Zhu Zhenggang, Superintendent of Ruijin Hospital, affiliated hospital of School of Medicine of SJTU.

 

This was the second time Prof. Joseph Sung visited SJTU as Vice-Chancellor of CUHK. The frequent academic exchange strengthened linkage and promoted further collaborations between CUHK and SJTU.
