University of Tainan Delegation Visited CUHK

A delegation from the National University of Tainan (NUTN) led by Prof. Yin Mei-chun, Vice President of NUTN, visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on June 17. Members of the delegation, including Prof. Simon C. Li, Head of Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, Hsieh Li-hsueh, Chairperson of Department of English were received by Pro-Vice-Chancellor of CUHK Prof. Jack Cheng and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Office of Academic Links (China). Prof. Cheng extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced the university. After that, a campus tour was conducted for the delegation.

The visit has established a friendly relationship and deepened the understanding between the two universities.


NUTN was found in 1898, first as the Tainan Normal School. Since then, the institution has been developing through a serious of reforms. Its status was promoted several times from Taiwan Provincial Tainan Junior Teachers College in 1962 to Taiwan Provincial Tainan Teachers College in 1987. In 2004, it was further upgraded and renamed National University of Tainan. Website:
