Walking Campaign (Phase 2) Launching Ceremony

To encourage walking for health, the Committee on Health Promotion and Protection of CUHK, the Campus Development Office and the Estate Management Office designed several pedestrian trails with scenic view. Ride on the success of the Walking Campaign Phase 1 launched in March 2007, the Walking Campaign (Phase 2) Launching Ceremony will held on at 9:00 am, 2 November 2007 (Friday) at the University KCR Station.

At the ceremony, participants will walk from the University KCR Station to Shaw College Lecture Theatre, via Chinese Medicine Garden, Alumni Path and Alumni Garden. Healthy Snacks will be provided at Shaw College Lecture Theatre.

Registered participants will get souvenirs such as T-shirt and special measuring tape.

Alumni interested please contact the Health Education Unit of University Health Service (Tel: 2609 6428; Email: heidihui@cuhk.edu.hk) for registration. Deadline for application is 24 October 2007.

United College Alumni Day

All UC alumni are welcome to join the Day's free programmes. Each participant may bring 3 family members.

A reunion dinner will also be arranged the same day for alumni who graduated for 25 years (1982 graduates) as well as 50 years or above (1957 graduates or above) at 6:15pm at United College Staff Common Room, Top Floor, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Centre. The dinner fee is HK$100/person. Alumni are welcome to bring their family members.

Free Use of Sports Facilities

From now till April 2008, the below United College sports facilities will be opened between 2:15pm and 9:00 pm on Sundays* during academic term for alumni who are members of the United College Alumni Association and their family members for free. The facilities will be available on a first-come first-served basis. Advance booking is not required (except for tennis courts).

  • Thomas Cheung Gymnasium, Table Tennis Room, Physical Fitness Room
    (Venue: 1/F, Cheung Chuk Shan Amenities Centre, United College)
  • Tennis Courts (Venue: Junction of United Road & Residence Road)

The facilities will not be opened on:
(1) Public Holidays
(2) Sundays reserved by Registration & Examinations Section:

The Federation of Alumni Associations of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK FAA), which comprises all major alumni associations of the University as its members, will organize its Annual Dinner & Inauguration Ceremony for 2007 in November 2007 to celebrate its 30th Anniversary as well as the Silver Jubilee of its Education Foundation.
