Details can be found at http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/itsc/deptsupport/swstd/swstd.html . Regarding the recent release of Windows 10, it said to have lots of similarities to Windows 7 and to combine the strength of Windows 8 with Windows 7. Before accepting it as a University software standard, Windows 10 requires extensive testing by ITSC to ensure its compatibility with University applications. We have been testing Windows 10 Enterprise Edition since its launch. And we target to support Windows 10 by end 2015, subject to the testing results on hardware and software compatibility. Initial findings (also applies to Windows 10 Home Edition) include - Anti-virus Software - Kaspersky
The current version of Kaspersky DOES NOT support Win 10. Kaspersky Lab plans to release a version compatible with Windows 10 in Q4 2015. If you are looking for an anti-virus solution, please consider Windows Defender that is a bundled anti-virus solution in Win 10. - CU eLearning System (Blackboard Learn)
- Blackboard does not support Windows 10 and the new browser Edge at this moment.
- If you must use a computer with Windows 10, try using Chrome or Firefox to access Blackboard. However, you may experience issues since these browsers have yet to be tested with Windows 10 as well.
- VPN and Wifi connection
The connection methods are similar to Windows 8. Please check related user guides for details. We will continue publishing our test results of University administrative, learning, teaching and research applications on our website. With all the above applications have not been fully tested, ITSC will not officially support Windows 10. Check http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/itsc/deptsupport/win10 for details.
