Kangxi and the Taming of Black Tigers: Two Excursions in Chinese Art History Studies 「康熙伏虎:中國藝術史研究方法舉隅兩例」
These keynotes are abstracted from Professor Lam's presentation at an Institute of Chinese Studies Luncheon in March 2013. The topic of his presentation was "Kangxi and the Taming of Black Tigers: Two Excursions in Chinese Art History Studies". Citing two rare items, a monumental blue and white vase and a calligraphy rubbing, both in the collection of the Art Museum, Professor Lam illustrated two approaches in the studies of Chinese Art History, combining traditional Chinese scholarship and modern Western methodologies.
