Orientation Talks for New Students 2016-17

In order to help new students integrate into our campus community, a series of orientation talks focusing on university adjustment and healthy lifestyle will be held.


First-year Student Survey 2016-17
The "CUHK First-year Student Survey (Personal Particulars and Expectations on University Life)" is conducted every year through the Entry Class Questionnaire to collect information for statistical and planning purposes of the University Grants Committee and the University.

Walk-in Counselling Sessions for New Students 2016-17
To assist students in handling individual concerns or difficulties in adjusting to the University, walk-in counselling sessions for new students will be provided.

Blood Donation Campaign 2016-17
A blood donation campaign co-organized by the Office of Student Affairs and Hong Kong Red Cross will be held in October. All CUHK members aged 16 - 60, weighed over 41 kilograms and proved healthy are welcome to join.

「Greengoer 2016/17」是由非牟利教育團體-生態巴士(ecobus)舉辦及環境運動委員會發起及支持。環境領袖訓練計劃將由10月開始,為期約10個月,從各大專院校,招收40位來自不同領域,但又有志於環保工作的學生,參與一連串與環境保育相關的訓練。然後,參加者會獲安排與不同中學舉辦「綠色社區活動」。

Student Development Portfolio

The Student Development Portfolio (SDP) is a university-wide electronic platform for capturing and presenting students' Experiential Learning Activities (ELA) under the whole-person development framework namely I.CARE. Its major functions include the overview and on-line enrolment of ELA, as well as the production of ELA Report.


The Peoples of the Southwest United States through Film and in Real Life
A 3-week study programme, offered by Hong Kong-America Center, is open to all students of universities in Hong Kong during the semester break. The programme includes a 2-week tour in Los Angeles, California and Tucson, Arizona from 25 December 2016 to 7 January 2017, pre-departure orientation and follow-up reflection programme in Hong Kong.

The i-Ambassador Scheme 2016-17

The i-Ambassador Scheme provides a platform for students to organize activities of internationalization and cultural integration in their own way. To facilitate the i-Ambassadors' implementation of activities and to raise their cultural awareness, a spectrum of fun training activities will be arranged to equip them with all the necessary qualities.

Everyday Cantonese with Ease 2016

Lectures on vowels and daily conversation. Through tone exercises and pronunciation practice, participants would be able to acquire elementary level of Cantonese and engage in real life conversation.


Hong Kong Explorer Series
A series of on-campus and off-campus visits will be organized in the first term for non-local students to facilitate their adaptation to the new life in CUHK and Hong Kong.

Mentorship Programme for Mainland students

本計劃專為內地本科生而設,透過配對學長和新生,讓同學交流經驗、分享知識,並協助新生適應大學生活。成功獲委任的學長將會接受專業培訓,學習正向溝通、帶領活動及建立個人親和力等技巧;而學友亦可透過「自我認識工作坊」及小組活動,提升自我及掌握學習、生活的技巧。此外,本計劃將舉辦一系列「提升學習效能工作坊」,內容包括時間管理、演講技巧、學術引用、面試技巧等。我們還會邀請城中名人在「星級嘉賓分享會」中與同學暢談學習與人生致勝之道。內容豐富,費用全免!


Talk on Hong Kong Laws and You
Laws in Hong Kong can be very different from those in your home country. Newly admitted non-local students are recommended to join these legal talks to get a better understanding about Hong Kong laws so as to avoid committing criminal offences unintentionally

Conference Hall and Rehearsal Room at Lower Ground Floor of Benjamin Franklin Centre
The Conference Hall and Rehearsal Room located at the LG/F of Benjamin Franklin Centre are open for use by CU students and staff from 19 September (Monday). Users could make use of the Rehearsal Room for dance and drama practice, rehearsals or other training classes. The Conference Hall could accommodate up to 90 participants, it is an ideal venue for meetings and seminars.
